Are you a comedian looking to compete in 2025? This competition is perfect for both emerging and established comedians in the DMV area looking to elevate their career. Get ready to showcase your best material, receive feedback from industry professionals, and potentially join the ranks of DMV’s top comedic talent.

Competition Info

The competition will have three rounds: preliminaries (round 1), semi-finals (round 2), and finals (round 3).
  • Round 1 (5 min set) and Round 2 (10 minute set) will occur on the 3rd Wed of each month from now until November at MixT Food Hall in PG County, MD.

  • Finals (15 minute sets) will be held on 12/21/25 at the Hard Rock Cafe in DC.
Signing up does not guarantee entry. If you are accepted into the competition, we will assign you a date for first-round competition — and go from there!

How to Win

Winners in each round will be determined by a composite score from a panel of judges and audience vote.

Audience votes for their top 2 comedians.
The scores from a panel of 3 judges (out of 10) are averaged and added to audience vote.
Judges will give feedback after each comic on why they scored what they did.
Top 2 advance from rounds 1 and 2.

Winners of each show will get spots on upcoming weekends with Comedy Shows Near Me, plus multiple shows, recordings, and paid spots for round 2 and the finals.

The final winner is crowned the Comedian of the Year gets a feature spot on an upcoming show.
